Towards Understanding Incomplete Fusion Reactions at Low Beam Energies: Modified Sum Rule Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigated the enhanced production of nuclei formed via incomplete fusion (ICF) reactions near and above Coulomb barrier energies (5–8 MeV/A). The cross-sections evaporation residues in reactions—11B+124Sn, 10B+124Sn 11B+122Sn—were measured using off-line gamma-ray spectrometry. sum rule model (SRM) by Wilczyński et al. predicted cross-section values too low compared to our experimental results. In earlier studies, same has been very successful explaining ICF at high beam (>10 We, therefore, modified SRM, specifically incorporating energy dependence definition critical angular momentum ℓcr. resulting SRM gave an improved theoretical estimate for we studied.

Running at Low Proton Beam Energies
The H1 Collaboration is interested in a run with reduced proton beam energy of about three months duration in order to measure the inclusive and the diffractive longitudinal structure functions at low x and Q from data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 10 pb . This run has been considered to be essential to complete the HERA ep programme, which is largely devoted to the underst...

The HIγS facility is making it possible to perform studies of few body systems at a new level of accuracy and precision. A study of the photodisintegration of the deuteron using 100% linearly polarized beams at 14 and 16 MeV has determined the splittings of the three p-wave amplitudes involved in this process for the first time. These results show that the relativistic contributions, which when...
متن کاملBjorken Sum Rule at low Q 2
A description of the generalized Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rules for proton and neutron is suggested, using their relation to the Bjorken sum rule. The results support an earlier conjecture, that the structure function gT features a smooth Q−dependence, while the structure function g2 is changing rapidly, due to the elastic contribution to the Burkhardt-Cottingham sum rule. A possible violation...

BOOKLET These are short proceedings of the workshop on “The Standard Model at Low Energies” held at ECT* in Trento, Italy, from April 29 to May 10, 1996. The workshop concentrated on Chiral Perturbation Theory in its various settings. Included are a one page abstract with references per speaker and a listing of some review papers of relevance to the field. J. Bijnens NORDITA, Blegdamsvej 17, DK...
متن کاملThe Standard Model at Low Energies*
The hadronic sector of the standard model at low energies is described by a non–decoupling effective field theory, chiral perturbation theory. An introduction is given to the construction of effective chiral Lagrangians, both in the purely mesonic sector and with inclusion of baryons. The connection between the relativistic formulation and the heavy baryon approach to chiral perturbation theory...
